A new handbook providing a comprehensive introduction to cruise mail in the years before World War 1, together with details of the local stamps, etiquettes and cachets used on mail from the ship's passengers.

All the etiquettes are illustrated, described and discussed in detail and the cachets listed and illustrated.

Tables, based on items recorded by the authors, show the post offices cancelling Spitzbergen cruise mail during the period, the destinations and the number of each cachet type.

Details of the cruise ships and the tables showing the years in which they operated are included.
